Ww Project Standards

PMML.   The NCDM introduced the Predictive Model Markup Language on its Terabyte Challenge Testbed in 1996. It is now an industry standard sponsored by the Data Mining Group (DMG) and supported by over a dozen vendors. PMML is an XML-based language so that consumers and producers of statistical and data mining models can have an application and platform independent mechanism for sharing statistical models.

Web Services for Data Mining.   The NCDM is working with the DMG to develop web services for data mining, data integration and data exploration called WS-DMX. The emerging WS-DMX standard is is based in part on work done on the DataSpace Transfer Protocol or DSTP by the LAC/NCDM.

SABUL/UDT.   Recently, the NCDM submitted a draft to the IETF for the SABUL/UDT high performance data transport protocol. All UDT information can be found at udt.sf.net
